Sub-Acute for Preteens & Teens
Rivendell is accepting referrals to our sub-acute treatment program for preteens and teens ages 12-17. This extended inpatient program is a sub-acute level of care in which teens engage in abstract thinking, group therapy, and recreational activities in order to explore new coping skills. Our patients learn to accept their circumstances and make deliberate choices for their futures, here and now!
With over 34 years’ experience in mental health care, Rivendell understands the challenges encountered in developing our youth. We want to help you meet those challenges. Whatever the individual needs may be, we will work with each provider, the parents, guardians and patient to ensure the skills needed to reenter the community are being developed. Our treatment model consist of a multidisciplinary team including: child psychiatrist, general medical physician, licensed mental health professionals, nurses, psychologists, MHAs, teachers, recreational therapists, and case managers trained specifically to treat chronic behavioral and emotional disorders in adolescents. Specialized services include dialectical behavioral therapy components, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma informed care. We offer a safe and secure treatment environment and welcome patients from across the region. The average length of stay for the sub-acute treatment program is 2-4 months (varies by patient).
