Intensive Outpatient Care for Adults
Rivendell of Arkansas has developed the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) to offer adults age 18 and older more options for receiving mental health and substance abuse treatment. IOP can function as a “step down” program for adults coming from acute inpatient programs who need more help and support transitioning back into their homes lives and communities. It can also offer adult patients a more intensive, supportive treatment environment than a traditional outpatient program.
IOP helps patients practice the coping skills they’ve learned in a controlled, growth-oriented environment supported by our treatment team and other patients who are on the path to recovery. With convenient hours, IOP patients can continue their daily routines and continue treatments with their original mental health provider (MHP), while working with our team of specialists as well. If patients don’t currently have an MHP, Rivendell’s staff can help make a referral for continued care and wellness.
IOP hours are 9 a.m to 12 p.m. Monday through Friday, with snacks provided.
While treatment varies for each patient, most patients seek support from the program for two to three months to solidify the skills and principles they’ve learned to keep improving their quality of life and mental wellness. Local transportation to Rivendell is available as necessary but should be arranged with the facility.
